Flowers I would love to find
If you know where these grow - I would be really excited to know, please use the contact form on the home page.
Soapwort (Saponaria officinalis)

I am intriqued by this one, but have never ever seen any examples. The only record I can trace in Kinross-shire was from Cleish in 1839.
Herb Paris (Paris quadrifolia)

I have seen this plant only once, I recognised it immediately, even though it was a bit chewed up. Not been seen in Kinross-shire since 1857 as far as I can gather. I think this plant has a very exceptional architecture that just intrigues me and I would love to find it again and photograph it.
Orchids
I like finding Orchids, just because Orchids have this exotic reputation, but that goes back to the days when they were flown in from the S. American Jungle as expensive gifts for Ladies, however we have our own Native Orchids and, although they are small, they can be very beautiful, especially if photographed close up.
The scented orchid is very pleasing to the nose.
I might only recognise a few orchids to identify them off the top of my head, but I am jealous that I have never seen the Butterfly Orchid - and I know it grows locally. I might make it a mission next year to go South to see Bee Orchids.
I would love to see the Violet Bird's Nest Orchid as it looks so unusual. The Lizard Orchid, White Helleborine and Lady's tresses have also evaded me so far too, and all would be a welcome sight to me.
